Transmogrification

I'm sure this is a dumb question, but is there any way to turn a tuneable Low D tinwhistle into a flute? I mean, are there flute heads you can buy or something? I'm sure that would be entirely too easy, but hey, it doesn't hurt to ask.

Aye, and that's what kills me. How do you afford a good flute without knocking off the local bank? A fella let me play one of those delrin jobbies recently at an open mic night. Mighty nice, but mighty expensive. As I've said before when topics like this come up, you can buy a very decent brand new...

I own a Jerry Freeman tweaked brass Generation in Bb. It's holding up perfectly, and it's an awesome whistle. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Jerry's tweaks really made this whistle perfect for me.

Freeman Tweaked ...

Okay, I've never been in the position to afford a Freeman Tweaked whistle. And I'm not in that position now. However, due to a recent trade, I acquired a couple. Hats off to Jerry. He's succeeded in knocking out the touchy breathiness and the reedy/buzzy tone in the Gens. I can use more breath (back...

Moldovan Whistle ...

Hi Folks, I freely admit that this is a bit embarrassing, but I have a foreign whistle and no name for it. My friend went to Moldova this summer and came back last week. We went over to her house last night (the second time we've seen her since she got back) and her mantle was adorned with things sh...

FMS Bagpipes

Hi All, I've searched the forums and not found mention of these guys. Has anyone heard of, or had any dealing with, the Funky Music Shop? I'm wondering if these would be a good starter set. http://stores.ebay.com/The-Funky-Music-Shop_W0QQsspagenameZMEQ3aFQ3aSTQQtZkm 'Course, now that I'm looking aro...

That looks like the picture for the Kerry. :-?

Regardless, I own a Dixon Aluminum Low D. Splendid instrument and a wonderful whistle to own. Snatch it up. That's my advice ...

It's an interesting instrument he's playing. It looks like he's blowing from the bottom of the "fipple"? And the windway must be on the underside. Kinda strange, but wow, the kid plays great.
