A good night's sleep solves a multitude of problems. Too few people have tried this. Caffeine keeps the body awake, but not the mind. No matter how poorly planned, it will work for ten minutes. Don't just ask why, know why. A person is more than a statistical category. Think before speaking. You mig...

Glauber is right about the communities in the area. The city of LA in itself is not the place to be. But there is a lot of ground covered by cities that are a completely different world than LA. There's over 10 million people in the area, but only 3 million in Los Angeles. I'm from the San Gabriel V...

Hey Cran, It sounds like your area is a total dead end. From what you say, it sounds like relocating is the best idea. And now, a quick plug for the Los Angeles area. There are several respectable community colleges in the area. I would recommend staying out of the actual city of LA, but there's a w...

Makes sense, I suppose. Some of those multiple choice questions were a bit tough to answer accurately. I came across a few where I could go between two options. Of course, internet quiz results should never be taken too seriously. As for my own faith, I'll stick with this . 1. Mainline to Conservati...

I can't seem to remember the details, but isn't there also something the Infernal Ripoff Service does to discourage people from emigrating from the US?

Jerry was right. I found another really tiny burr under the blade, which made a difference. It was real haggis, not the cheap imitations that they so often bring around here. Norcal, I can't make it up there after all. I also just discovered that the blasted thing's 30 cents sharp of A440. Sigh. :ro...

The Placebo Tweak?

So I went over to the Costa Mesa Highland Games this last weekend. Had a great time, tried some real Haggis, bought some English Toffee for a nice person's birthday, and heard a ton of great music. This was also the location where I picked up my first whistle one year ago. So, operating purely on Wh...

Disclaimer: I don't own one.

On question 2: Getting the CD tracks into mp3 format is pretty simple with something like CDex (free!) http://www.cdex.n3.net/ I suggest a bitrate of at least 160 kbps.

On question 4: I have heard that the dark side of the iPod is the hidden cost of a new battery.

I just got back from seeing it. I thought it was very well done, well acted. However, I was reminded of something Mark Twain wrote in Fenimore Cooper's Literary Offenses . Twain's rule number 10 goes as follows: 10. They require that the author shall make the reader feel a deep interest in the perso...

No mention of different kinds of rhythms, sycopations, etc...?

Also, I've heard slow, quiet melodies that were actually quite happy, possibly due to certain cadences and things like that.
