RTE streaming during Olympics

I sat down this afternoon and wanted to stream Ceili House off of RTE Radio1. When I clicked on the link to stream, I heard a little announcement that, due to the fact that RTE was only allowed the rights to broadcast the Olympics in Ireland, they had to close down the streaming media to anyone outs...

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii19/Kilfarboy/Willie31dance.jpg I think I recognize those feet. Is there a chance they belong to Patrick O'Dea? He's a sean nos dancer but dances the Munster style rather than the more common Connaught style. He also wears distinctive shoes. Great shot! :) Seems ...

The Dolphin in the Bay - sounds like a tune name to me.

It's been a sad couple of months. Three gone: Joe Ryan, Kitty Hayes, and now Paddy. I heard on Clare FM that there's going to be an event for Paddy over in Tulla tonight. Joan Hanrahan said that she felt lucky to have known these people and lived in their time. Some of us weren't as lucky but ...

Actually Cat, what you say isn't so unlike what Martin Hayes said last year in the Catskills. ...because a lot of times you'll find that you need to play on your own and you need to enjoy it, you know... it needs to be rewarding. Or else you're going to be stuck forever looking for a session to sati...

By one who was influenced, a nice tribute:

This is a very good series. Thanks for posting the links.
Some great anecdotes in there. :)
It's nicer to watch the ones on Google video since they are in their entirety but I'll take 'em anyway I can get 'em.

I don't know that it would be accurate to say that I don't like to hear a flute play the reel (or the jig, I guess) "Green Hills of Tyrol" aka "Tripping Down the Stairs". It's just that I prefer to hear a fiddle (or maybe a box) play it because a fiddle can play all the way down ...

That's the beauty of playin' flute - if you're playin' tunes, you can't talk. :)

Hey, Martin, I didn't try to tune in on Friday but I didn't see the show on the schedule listing for Friday. Is the website designer just a little behind on the update? Is this the only traditional music show on Shannonside? I saw another show called Heathery Breezes that had potential since I know ...

Does anyone know of other individual (not just MadforTrad) teachers who provide online lessons? I didn't see anything that jumped out at me in the Teachers Wanted/Students Accepted forum.

I know James Kelly does online lessons for fiddle players also.
