Re: flute tweaking, is it a cr*p flute or not issue?
Jon C., if the flute discussed is blackwood, if the joints fit well, why could it not be rebored with a taper that you know works and an embachure that you know works, and holes adjusted and have a very good flute? In other words, consider it as a blank. Micheal Cronnelly used to modify Pakastanie b...

Re: I am sooo sad...
Ok, I want to know what yous guys think of this: I gave Arbo (and many others) wee plastic canisters with pin holes in the top. They come in some pill bottles full of dehydrating beads. The lid comes off using heavy fingernails or with pliers. Dump the beads and put in a wad of cotton wool. The cani...

Re: Busking for Obamaites
Jennie, you disappeared into the crowd out of my life. I miss you. I'd pick you over Sara Palin any day. Especially in the looks department. I don't know about the flute playing department. Certainly looks and brains. What did Sara Palin say about the oil spill in Veldese: "How Long is a Chinam...

Busking for Obamaites
I can catch a train from Cumberland MD to DC, nice ride. I was planning on taking my red Ausie Shepard dog, a pair of sun glasses, a long white cane, a tin cup, me flute and me Highland Bag Pipes to Washington, DC; sit on a bench next to the Smithsonian and play patriotic songs on Nov. 20. It looks ...

[img] I am trying, I hope the pictue is above. If not, I'll try again. The flute will not play anymore anyhow. My father said I have to keep the fuzzy thing in the rest of the flute to keep it dry. Now it will not play. The Cognat...

I'm with Pat Plunkett. For those interested in choosing between Augusta Heritage (AH) and Timber Flute Festival (TFF), both in the summer in Elkins West Virginia. I live close by and can go to both. I went for 2 days at the Timber Flute Festival and had to leave. But I was there long enough to get t...

Adding keys to existing flutes
There was a thread about 6 months ago that mentioned a flute maker that advertised adding keys to flutes made by other people. Does anyone know who that flute maker is?
Thanks, Nelson

I don't know if I had it delivered from China or not when Jeanie et al were at my WV homestead but it is a lawyer's bookcase with sliding (up) glass fronts on each bookshelf. I got some nice velvet and some thin foam and made pads for the shelves. It turns out that it takes an area of about 5 square...
