C&F Writing Competition. Can you freaking believe it?

Well, I can't.

But here is the deal: I will send a FREE Phil Coulter CD to the winner of this little competition. I forget the title fo the CD right now, but it has the word "Celtic" in it, I bet. Shipping is on me, as well, and I will send the CD uninsured upon request.
About himself, Phil Coulter wrote:I have been a lucky man, blessed with family, friends and, for more than thirty five years, the ability to compose and play music that touches people. But the Phil Coulter story is anything but straightforward. The road from Derry to the White House was not one without some strange detours and stopovers along the way.
The rest of us get to listen to the CD. Some of us, anyway. Well, one of us, to be exact. The winner.

The FREE Phil Coulter CD will go to the author of the best short piece of prose posted in this thread by August 10, 2004.

author = You wrote it yourself.
short = It's 400 words or less.
prose = It's not poetry.

The only other rule is that your piece must either mention sex or not mention sex, your choice.

I will select the winner. Perhaps I'll select some finalists and post a poll and ignore the poll results afterwards. Perhaps I will call on a board of editors. Who wants to plan when they're celebrating?

Best wishes all around, and thanks to everyone, especially those who expect it least! :)

EDIT: Renamed thread. There are addiotional prizes. Winner picks between the Phil Coulter CD, the new CD of our VERY OWN Lolly Cross which I will BUY for you, or a GENERATION Hi D tweaked by yours truly. The runner-up get's to chose among what's left, and third place will get a thread on the chiffboard named after him or her.

AS AN ADDITIONAL BONUS PRIZE Dale has promised to publish the winning entry on RIGHT HAND POINTING.

Your entries have been marked as such, or in italics, or something to distinguish them from posts. Multiple entries are allowed, nay, encouraged. :)

Amar,
If we drove by your house in the morning, would your sheets be hanging out the window to dry? :P

The question is; is that the end of the story or the beginning?

OK, I obviously need to make some amendments here:

AS THE PRIZE, at your option, I will send you Lolly Cross' new CD, shipping and handling on me. Seems like a good way to support a cherished board member at the same time.

For the picky ones, as FURTHER ADDITIONAL AND SUPPLEMENTAL PRIZE options, I offer to tweak your Susato, or send you Bloomfield-tweaked Generation D.

Also: your entries have to marked as such. Just a post won't do it. Call it Entry, or something. And remember: no poetry, thank you very much. :)
