Retirement Communities & Golf
OK. This was on Sunday morning news. I don't understand why anyone would participate in either endeavor and packaging them up in one commodity is just too much. But imagine what would happen to the Souther United States if these retirement communities were all about music rather than golf.
Rose tint my world. Keep me safe from my trouble and pain.

Yeah, about that...it's for the best they're not. Think of the potential for unbridled cacophony. For one thing: unlike musicians, be they good or bad you don't have to hear golfers all that much, which is arguably a blessing. Plus, also unlike musicians, they all do pretty much the same thing be it individually or en masse. Which would also be a blessing, but since you can't hear them in any case it does make that point kind of moot, doesn't it. But it illustrates what I'm getting at. I think.mutepointe wrote:But imagine what would happen ... if these retirement communities were all about music rather than golf.
If there must be one, then a community of music should operate on the same terms as with hanky-panky: for the most part keep it reasonably discreet unless you're getting paid.

There are retirement communities for musicians just as there are retirement communities for ornithologists.

It's dizzying, the possibilities. Ashes, Ashes all fall down.

Okay, this must be the place:

A lot you know. That guy's playing a trumpet. The police officer is simply pointing out he better not try playing a bugle. I've faced this type of discrimination myself. I can't even get respect on a military base.Nanohedron wrote:Not a Musicians' Retirement Community:

What's wrong with golf? It's a perfectly good card-game! And it's a solitaire, so you don't have to worry about arguments with other players.

Re: Retirement Communities & Golf
I work in a retirement golf community. Any questions? We have a vocal minority who wants to close one of the two courses and let it "go back to nature." Which is really funny, because in this part of Calif. that means a lot of dry grass, coyotes and rattlers. They have this idea that it would be all green and wonderful. Clueless about sprinkler irrigation.
Most of the homes are attached. I could never live here because the minute I played my whistle, the neighbors would complain. They complain about everything as it is.

How do you prepare for the end of the world?
