A Baroque aside--fantastic piccolos!

Post by Hoovorff »

I know we've got a few people who also play traverso. I wanted to share this fantastic clip of Baroque piccolos playing Rameau's Boreade #2. The players are Amelie Michel and Serge Saitton. According to the discussion on the earlyflute group, they're playing Alain Weemael's copies of I. H. Rottenburgh piccolos.

Enjoy! (I hope the link works!)

Two others, equally enjoyable:

(look for the three traversi and one piccolo)

This last one is hilarious! Chicken dance set to Rameau--all very tongue-in-cheek!

Nelson,

I really wanted to go to the Timber festival. I would especially like to be in the classes of the traverso teacher, Colin St. Martin. But I'm taking a week-long in-service on music and acting for elementary students for my teaching next week instead. Mabye next year!

Let me know how the festival is!
