The crazy idea of Paddy Moloney and Paddy Keenan doing a concert or recording crossed my mind. Would never happen, but what do you think???

On the contrary, I also think that may be one hell of a recording. Think of it... duets, maybe, with Moloney playing harmony(?)

Just trying to start a compare and contrast type thingy. I know their styles are vastly different, but they both are able to take a melody and stretch it out to its limits.
Does that make it any more approachable?

Could make for an interesting pairing, I suppose, but from what little I know, I don't think the two Paddys are overly fond of one another...

Methinks this would be another selling point for the CD. Perhaps it could even be entitled "Brawling Paddys"....uh, there is a tune name in there somewhere.
Seriously, I'd be interested in buying a copy if it ever was recorded... but not something I feel is very likely.

I remember hearing a recording once of Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash sining together. If you are familiar with each of their singing styles, you can imagine how horrible the combination really was. I doubt very much that pairing two such uncomplimentary piping styles would produce anything worth listening to.

How about this....Ethel Merman and Tom Petty sing the Mikado? Eh? Eh? Too much fun for the average person I suppose. That, and it would be difficult to bring about as Ethel is decidedly no longer among the living... and there is some speculation about Tom Petty's corporeal state.

"When Paddys Go Wild"...I can see it now.
Hey, how about this? What if Paddy Keenan and Tom Waits got together for an album? Now that I really would want to hear...

You should always speak good of the dead. Ethel Merman is dead.....GOOD!

A splendidly dark idea!!
He's done some great stuff with others, fairly recently was an appearance on Roy Harpers CD 'The Green Man'.
I wanted to play with Roy!! *strop*
